Sometimes fate seems to intervene and reward the people who deserve it the most, and that is certainly what happened to Susan James from Bromborough, who won over £10,000 at her local Buzz Bingo.
What makes this story so lovely, is that Susan – or Sue as we will call her from now on, she won’t mind – is a retired NHS worker, volunteered to help during the COVID pandemic, and is a loyal customer of her bingo club.
Here’s what we know about the lucky winner and how her big night on the 23rd of February happened.
Go GO Jackpot
Sue has been visiting her local bingo hall in Bromborough for more than 10 years, which means she’s been going during bingo’s darker days right up until today when things are starting to look brighter for bingo again.
Anyway, Sue was having a go, or should we say a ‘go go’ on the Go Go Jackpot game which is available to play between the main games on a touch screen or on the Go Go boards in the club.
The available jackpots are:
- £25,000
- £10,000
- £1,000
As you can see, our Sue got the middle one.
The General Manager was there at the Buzz Bingo club where Sue was playing, and she said:
“We couldn’t be happier for Susan and her fantastic win. Everyone was cheering from their seats – it was such an exciting moment.”
We can imagine the atmosphere; excitement, joy, and a tinge of jealous no doubt – we certainly would be!
An employee at Buzz Bingo in Bromborough said:
“She won it on the 40th call, because of the way the main draw bonus works.”
A Local Hero
There’s a twist to this tale too, because not only did Sue spend her working life helping others as an NHS nurse, which in itself would be enough for us to be extra happy for her big win, but she was quick to volunteer when COVID reared its’ ugly head in 2020.
That’s right, she came out of retirement to help give vaccinations to the people of the Wirral when the pandemic was at its worst.
Never mind clapping for carers, they should all be winning £10k jackpots!
As if extra proof were needed that Sue was a deserving winner, when asked what she was going to do with the money, she said she would share it with her bingo buddies.
She also said she will carry on playing bingo like always, and celebrate with her favourite meal served at the club – hunters chicken.
