It’s Time To Sashay ‘Giveaway’ Over At Paddy Power Bingo

If you haven’t heard of RuPaul’s Drag Race, then quite frankly where have you been? Haha. The hugely popular TV show has taken the world by storm over the last 10 years, and just last year in 2019, we were treated to our very own series here in the UK. The show is arguably one of the best reality shows ever to embrace our screens (can you tell I’m a MASSIVE FAN…), and now some of the UK stars have turned their hand to a bit of bingo.

Paddy Power Bingo have recently teamed up with some of the nation’s favourite drag artists from across the UK – including the likes of Davina De Campo and Vinegar Strokes – and together they’ve now launched their exciting new ‘Guess It, Or Drag It Out’ competition. You’ve got up until the 11th October to have a stab at the prize, and the prize up for grabs is a brand spanking new Mini Cooper – perfect for any diva.

According to a recent article in Little Black Book online, the competition is now open to all Paddy Power Bingo members. The aim of the game is to work out how many bingo balls fill the winning car, all by using the unique ‘Guess It, Or Drag It Out’ technique. This means that players can either choose to make a random choice of how many balls they think it might be, or you could decide to watch the fun 5-hour long video which features the queens filling up the car throughout the show before making your guess.

To guess it? Or, to drag it out? That’s the question now over at Paddy Power…

Make Your Choice Now With The Queens At Paddy Power

Will you make your guess at random? Or would you prefer to enjoy an entire promotional drag show episode of fun and frolics with the queens themselves?

Creative Director at Paddy Power, Kevin Masters told Little Black Book:

You can’t move for competitions these days, so we wanted to take a traditional competition and give it a twist.

He continued:

Instead of guessing how many balls are in a mini, we challenged people to count them going in…but we wouldn’t make it that easy. So we dragged it out to five hours with the help of the country’s best drag artists, including stars of RuPaul’s Drag Race.

Guess It?

drag race paddy power bingo screenshotTo make a guess at random simply head on over to the Paddy Power Bingo website and sign in to your account. Each customer can make one guess each week over the following dates:

  • WEEK 1 – 22nd-27th September
  • WEEK 2 – 28th Sept-4th Oct
  • WEEK 3 – 5th-11th October

The winning number will then be revealed on the 12th October, and the person who made the closest guess, wins the car. In the event of more than one person making the correct guess however, names will then go into a prize draw and a winner will be pulled out at random.

Drag It Out

Watch the fun 5-hour long drag show special, and make a much more calculated guess, as you watch the queens fill the car throughout the video.

Like any drag performance, it is far from boring, and you’ll be treated to a series of fun gameshow style challenges and appearances from your favourite stars throughout. You can still make one guess a week too with this option, so make sure you watch closely and study the video as many times as you like to check those bingo balls as closely as you can.

Are Celebs Helping To Attract A Bigger Bingo Audience?

drag race mini cooper paddy power screenshotThroughout 2020 we’ve seen a big rise in the popularity of bingo, and also a much younger audience in general too.

During the summer we saw people being brought together through bingo – albeit virtual, or at a distance – and there’s also been a recent surge in celebs getting involved too.

There have always been celebrity endorsements and brand deals with bingo over the years, however recently we’ve seen it more and more.

Just this month we saw Gemma Collins take to the stage at a live drive-in bingo event in Manchester, plus Hollywood legend Matthew McConaughey even got stuck into some Zoom bingo over in America this year too.

I do think that bingo – and online bingo in particular – will always have a great following due to the nature of the game itself and its fun community feel, but it is also lovely to see that our favourite celebs are up for a bit of daubing too. It does of course help to attract a much wider bingo audience overall, but that’s only a great thing for the industry all round.
