Burst Bingo

What Is Burst Bingo And How To Play?

One of my go to online bingo games at the minute, possibly even one of my all time favourite, is Burst Bingo.

Burst Bingo is simply great in my opinion and one of the best new game variations in years.  Its exclusive to Mecca Bingo and runs on the Playtech network.

The concept is balloons with numbers on, which pop when the corresponding number is called.  Every player only has one ticket and you play only for full house.  The numbers on the balloons are really clear to see so its one of the few bingo games you can follow the numbers all the way to the end.

Simply Worthy Of A Mention…

ticket purchase tabI haven’t really touched on blogging about specific games before on specific sites, but I just felt this to be worthy of a story.  Because it has brought me a little bit of joy.

Burst Bingo is a 50 Ball special bingo game where every player only buys 1 ticket and 1 ticket only.  You then decide how much you want to stake for that 1 ticket.  The tickets are priced from 25p up to £3.00.  The more you stake, the bigger the win.  It has a totally different feel to the regular games you see everywhere as you are only playing for the full house.

Whats It Like…

bingo cardYour bingo card is 10 coloured balloons bobbing about in the sky with your numbers on, each with a funny looking animal critter hanging off it.  As the bingo balls are called, if you having a matching balloon, the corresponding balloon will burst  and the critter falls.  That is it.  Its not rocket science.

When you decide how much you want to stake, the game will tell you the minimum you will win based on only you playing.  The more players increases the amount you can win.

You can actually keep track of the numbers you need to burst your balloons.  Most other games where I buy what feels like a million tickets, I just hope for the best, until I have a card flashing entitled ‘1 To Go’.  Then I commit and hope with my heart and soul for that number I need, to be called.  With Burst, you can easily see your numbers right from the beginning so for me I feel like its more of a game from beginning to end.

Jackpots Of Joy

burst bingo jackpotBurst Bingo has premium jackpots which are a fabulous added bonus.  Not many bingo games have so many jackpots like Burst, especially with the biggest two progressive jackpots being shared among the players of the game it was won in.  Sharing is caring.

You can see the last time the jackpot was won and it gives you a basic (very) count down timer so you can have a go at judging if /when you are more likely to have a chance of winning.

Interestingly, whenever I have played Burst Bingo, there have been very few players.  Maximum being 60 and on average around 25-35 players.  This could be because the smallest ticket cost is 25p and perhaps people prefer to play with the more traditional tickets or don’t want to spend that much on just one game.

The less players does increase your chances of winning, and particularly because everyone just has the one bingo ticket (one set of 10 balloons).

It just feels a bit more like a level playing field.  On other games, you have no idea how many tickets people have played with.  Of course, you don’t know what people have staked until you see what they won, if they win at the end of the game.

A Niggling Feeling

Despite my love for Burst I just cant help but feel its purposely kept a little under wraps because its a bit cutesy.  Being a bit cutesy can put bingo games in the danger zone of the Advertising Standards Agency and the UK Gambling Commission.  A bit like fluffy favourites and the fine given to Gala, for what was deemed to be irresponsible advertising.

Those critters floating beautifully in the sky could, under the wrong gaze, appeal to under 18’s.  Whilst Mecca are not needing to advertise that game specifically at present, I do wonder if when the Gambling Act 2005 review actually happens, probably in mid 2021 now, there will be an overhaul of any game that could appeal in the slightest to under 18s.

Having said that, they could taking away the animal critters and swap the balloons for something else and I reckon I would still love it.
