Ex Boyband Stars Set To Perform at Mecca Bingo Halls across the UK in 2020

Mecca Bingo kicked off their popular Rewind Tour last week, but it was recently revealed that brand new man band – Boyz On The Block, will be dusting off their 90’s outfits and coming along for the ride in 2020 too.

The new four-piece supergroup comprises of Shane Lynch of Boyzone fame, Abz Love from 5ive, Another Level’s Dane Bowers and Ben Ofoedu of Phats & Small.

The guys will no doubt be bringing back some treasured 90’s memories, and there will be plenty of opportunities to bust some nostalgic shapes along the way I’m sure.

All you nineties boyband fans out there – and lets face it, that’s pretty much all of us – can nab tickets now over on the Eventbrite website. Tickets are expected to sell out quite quickly however, so make sure you jump online and grab yours today.

The band will start out at Mecca Bingo in Drumfield – Glasgow, and can then be seen in certain Mecca venues across the UK throughout the rest of the year. The evening will bring together both bingo and pop, and there will be lots of big prizes up for grabs throughout the night too.

Individually the Boyz On the Block Stars have all had amazing success as part of their old bands, but it was a recent night out together that sparked the idea of a collaboration.

The bands management team stated:

“Shane, Abz, Dane and Ben were all performing at a gig recently and hadn’t seen each other together for quite a while. At one point they all ended up on stage at the same time and had a blast.”

“It was all very natural – they realised they had a lot in common musically, and the audience loved seeing them perform together.”

According to an article in the Metro newspaper, a source claimed:

“They’re doing it for a bit of fun, but they’re confident fans will love it. The 90’s are huge again and they want to bring the naughtiness of that era back.”

“Who knows, they might even record again as Boyz On The Block if it’s as successful as people think it will be.”

The band claim that their concerts will be more of a club night out with a mixture of iconic 90’s tracks, and they hope to gain younger fans now who will have grown up listening to their old songs.

Mecca Bingo Rewind Tour

mecca bingo rewind festival screenshotThe Rewind Festival has been popular now for years, bringing back music and nostalgia from the 80’s through to the naughties.

In 2018 the company teamed up with Mecca Bingo, and together they hosted a number of events across the UK throughout 2019.

Members of S Club 7 and 911 all got involved, and the evenings went on till the wee hours of the morning.

Bingo fans went wild for these classic themed nights, and the gang are now going back on the road again in 2020.

This year the evenings events will kick off around 7pm, with doors opening from 5:30pm for those pre drinks and catch ups. There will be two sessions of bingo, followed by some audience participation fun and games, and then Boyz On The Block will appear around 10pm. The whole event is then due to finish around midnight, and there may even be a chance for a meet and greet with the guys if you’re lucky.

Tickets start at £17.50, and the event is strictly for over 18’s only. ID will be required on entry if you’re fortunate enough to look under 25, and no personal food or drink will be allowed on the premises.

Use the #meccarewind hashtag to follow the event on social media, and be sure to check out the Mecca Bingo website too to keep up to date with all the news and gossip from the event.
